The new National Christmas Tree is here.
The tree was planted at the Ellipse on Saturday to replace its predecessor, which was toppled by strong winds in February.
The new tree is a Colorado blue spruce that stands 26 and a half feet tall, according to the National Park Service. It's from a tree nursery in New Jersey.
NPS said horticulturists and staff had been preparing the site for the new tree since the old tree was blown over. That tree was also a Colorado blue spruce and was planted in
