AFP Remain in Control of Immigration Detention Centre on Christmas Island
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) remains in control of the Northwest Point Immigration Detention Centre (IDC) at the request of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
This will remain the case until order is restored and the safety and security of all people can be reasonably guaranteed.
